Seeking to inspire others, The Werner Quartet of Bozeman, Montana, make a return visit to perform for students at Wyoming Girls School on Friday. The classical cello quartet is made up of four Werner siblings…all under the age of 20. Hele’ne’ is a student at Yale; Luc, goes to Harvard; and Mariel and Ande’re, attend a charter school at home.
Music is the universal language that speaks to people on all levels, but music wasn’t what brought this turn around visit. Susan Werner, mother of the musicians says it was the warm welcome they received in January that drew them back
It was a concert from around the world as the Werner kids played movements of composers from Germany, France, Hungary, and Italy and while many stereotype chamber music as boring, the Werner Quartet finished up with a rock rendition--cello style.
The Wyoming Girls School located south of Sheridan is a therapeutic and educational facility for court ordered delinquent girls between the ages of 12 to 21.
