The beautiful new Big Horn High School Auditorium was the location for this month's Sheridan County School District 1 Board of Trustees meeting.
Action taken at the meeting: trustees approved moving the October Board meeting to Monday, October 18th to allow people to attend the candidate forum on the 19th at Sheridan College.
Trustees unanimously approved the Leave of Absence and Sabbatical Leave requests for Scott and Rachel Schroder. In August the couple had requested the Leave / Sabbatical so they may apply for a two-year teaching opportunity with the Department of Defense Dependent Schools in Europe. Trustees added a “Gentleman's Agreement” to their vote of approval: the Schroders are to try to let the District know as close as possible to May 1st, 2011 so that they may advertise for a math teacher position to replace Rachel Schroder at Tongue River High School.
Trustees also approved Andrew “Drew” Tindell of West Berlin, NJ to a new Technician position for the Big Horn Campus; they approved the appointment of Angie Atkinson to the Sheridan County School District 1 Recreation District Board; and they approved Megan Butler to the Assistant Volleyball Coach position at Big Horn High School. She will serve in a volunteer capacity until her certification is completed.
