Parents in Sheridan County School District 1 will have a chance to comment on the district's proposed calendar for the 2014/15 school year in the coming weeks.

In a meeting Monday night, District 1 trustees selected two options that will be posted soon on the district's web site. School Superintendent Marty Kobza said parents and students in the district, which includes schools in Ranchester, Dayton and Big Horn, will be notified when the calendar options are posted.

Also during Monday's board meeting, trustees re-elected Roy Garber as the representative on the Whitney Benefits board of directors. Selection followed a closed session in which trustees discussed the matter. The term of office on the Whitney board is four years.

The trustees also opened discussions about creating a virtual desktop for the district's internet services. A virtual desktop uses a remote server, like Cloud, to store, manage and process data. The district superintendent said more information will be presented to the school board at a meeting in December.
