During their monthly meeting the Sheridan County School District 2 Board of Trustees passed a number of new policies on second reading. The policies included an update to the harassment policy. The policy was modeled after one written by attorneys for the Wyoming School Boards Association.
The Board found out that the District is eligible for over $2 Million in American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds. They have until February 1st to submit the grant application. Once awarded the grant, they will have 18 months to spend the money.
The Board considered a measure that would start a program to use purchase cards within the district. The current credit cards are issued to the district whereas the new purchasing cards could be issued to individual employees. Business Manager Roxie Taft says the new cards would make tracking use much easier.
The Board unanimously approved the program at last night’s meeting. They hope to issue the new cards to administrators and activity coaches by early next year.
