The construction is nearly complete on the new Woodland Park Elementary School. All estimates show the building ready for a grand opening celebration on Monday, October 12th. Sheridan County School District 2 Superintendent Craig Dougherty says students will attend classes in the new building the next day.
Principals from District 2 elementary schools presented their school improvement plans to the Board of Trustee’s last night. Director of Elementary Education Scott Stults says several schools are setting similar goals.
Sagebrush Elementary is awaiting word on whether or not they will become one of two schools in the state of Wyoming to be recognized by the United States Department of Education for excellence. They expect to find out sometime today.
All five elementary improvement plans included school strengths, possible areas of improvement, and specific interventions to improve student learning.
