Sheridan County School District 2 trustees met for their budget adoption meeting Wednesday evening. The General Fund FY11 Budget in Revenues is $42,602,806 and the FY11 Expenditure Budget is $42,895,000. Expenditures are higher than revenue because assessed value in Sheridan County decreased over 32%. However, money from the state will make up for the difference with money they will fund for the ADM, or Average Daily Membership, of students attending classes in all District 2 schools.
The total budget for the 2010-2011 school year is $59,949,243, and Business Manager Roxie Taft says that it all looks healthy.
One of the biggest investments, Taft says, is in teachers.
District 2 has budgeted expenditures of $13,545 per student for the coming school year.
The breakdown of the FY11 Budget by fund is as follows:
General Fund - $42,895,000; Special Revenue Fund (Restricted) - $6,707,600; Capital Construction Fund - $5,750,000; Major Maintenance Fund - $2,355,849; Food Service Fund - $1,387,700; Memorial Fund - $128,094; and Activity Fund - $725,000.
