During Monday night's School District 2 March board meeting, Facilities Director Julie Carroll sought Trustees' approval of a Request to Advertise the Bid for Summer Projects. It's quite a lengthy list, but a lot of the items may never get started this summer -- it depends upon some activity in the State Senate. Superintendent Craig Dougherty explains.
Should funding not become available through the School Facilities Commission, some critical projects will be put on hold.
And as important as the Jr. High hill stabilization project is, Julie Carroll told the Board that if they don't get the hoped for funding, they absolutely cannot wait on replacing the roof on the current Meadowlark school, which would eat up all of the money they have in their budget. She indicated that they are, however, proceeding with designs and scopes to bid, with hopes that lawmakers will free up the facilities monies.
