Student enrollment is up from last year in Sheridan County School District 1. However, District Superintendent Sue Belish says the increase could be misleading as they have seen beginning of the year increases for the last three years but end the year with enrollments actually going down.
If the increase holds, it will mean a corresponding increase in revenue as funding is based on Average Daily Membership.
The Wyoming State Legislature requires all high school juniors to take the ACT exam. Results of those tests were available to the board at their meeting last night. ACT is including much more information with the results for the district.
The District is looking for ways to use the information in the results to improve teaching models in schools district-wide.
