The Sheridan County School District 1 Board of Trustees held their December meeting last night in Ranchester. Trustees received an audit report from accountants with Porter, Muirhead, Cornia, an accounting firm out of Casper. District 1 Business Manager Jeremy Smith was pleased with the outcome.
A presentation was also given on the revamped food service program on both sides of the District. Smith explains.
A preliminary survey of student feedback was taken in October, with more in the future, he says.
Among action taken, the Board set January 26th, 2011 as the date to meet District 1 Superintendent candidates, and they selected the Board Officers for the next year. Susie Dow remains as Chair; Johann Nield was voted Vice-Chair; C.T. Bailey remains as Treasurer; and new board member Carol Garber is Clerk.
Other action: Caroline Giles was approved to fill a full-time kindergarten position through the remainder of this school year and for all of the next school year; Shane Sears was moved from a part-time Special Ed para position to full-time; Katie Burke was approved as a math instructor at Tongue River Middle School; Jodi Ibach was approved for an Extra Duty position as Student Council advisor; and Stan Williams was selected for an Extra Duty position as Assistant Boys Basketball Coach for Big Horn Middle School.
