At last night's School District 1 board meeting, Trustees first met in Executive Session to discuss staffing for the next school year. All faculty and staff who are not retiring have been retained, and there is one opening for a Kindergarten teacher on the Big Horn side of the District. Superintendent Sue Belish says they won't have a problem filling that position.

Following the Executive Session, Trustees honored the Tongue River High School Lady Eagles basketball team for their State Championship win, and then held a little reception for the Tongue River employees who are retiring after this school year.

In May, they will honor the Big Horn personnel who are retiring.

The big discussion of the evening centered around the ongoing project with the plans for the Big Horn Elementary School. A public meeting will be held Tuesday, April 27th at 7 pm in the current Big Horn High School Gym.

The move-in date for the new Big Horn High School and Middle School is slated for early June, with punch list items and the track and field work completed over the summer.

And a bid was awarded to Fry Construction for an electrical upgrade, a storage building and air conditioning upgrade all at Tongue River Elementary and site work at Tongue River Middle School. The bid came in at $461,600 for the work that will be done this summer.
