The Johnson County School District One Board of Trustees, at their Monday night meeting, were given an update on the district's pursuit of a new Superintendent to replace the retiring Dr. Rod Kessler.
Board Chairperson Rich Hall told the board they have so far received packets from 12 different persons interested in the position, and three interviews have been scheduled so far.
The Hiring Committee is made up of school board members, teachers, students, and a few community members who will be entrusted with giving the school board their recommendation.
The three candidates scheduled for interviews so far are Gerry Chase, formerly of Big Piney; Jim Wagner, most recently from Minnesota; and Kelly Hornby, recently with Natrona County School District and a former principal at Buffalo High School.
According to Board Chairman Rich Hall, the Hiring Committee and school board are actively in the hiring process. He expects to have a new superintendent on board by July 1st.
