Sheridan College Agricultural students Jake Bare, Torrey Belus, Julia Collins and Amelia Manual traveled with their coach, Chuck Holloway to the University of Wyoming in Laramie, where they recently competed in the Wyoming Farm Bureau Collegiate Discussion Contest. The competition tests the student’s knowledge of contemporary agricultural issues and the student’s ability to discuss those topics in a panel forum.

After three rounds of competition, including students from several community colleges and the University or Wyoming, the judges announced the top four who would compete in the final round. Jake Bare, Amelia Manual and Julia Collins of Sheridan College were three of the final four. After a twenty minute discussion round, Jake Bare was named the first place winner. Bare received a check for $300.00 and an all expenses paid trip to Virginia Beach, Virginia in February to compete in the National Finals. Amelia Manual placed second and received a check for $150.00 and Julia Collins tied for third earning $25.00
