A special ceremony was held Thursday on the Wrench Ranch Hills Subdivision in north Sheridan where it was announced that Sheridan College has received a gift of 40 acres of land from Neltje.
The land, valued at $1.2 million, will be used to support comprehensive and transferable animal and equine science programs at Sheridan College as well as various community events.
Neltje says that she's happy to be a part of expanding opportunities in the Sheridan community.
Sheridan College President Dr. Paul Young says that this will open a lot of doors for Sheridan College and Sheridan County.
The first phase in development of the land will include a large indoor arena with classrooms that will enable the college to offer courses in Equine and Animal Science.
Young said that they will continue to raise funds for the 45,000 square foot facility, and that they've already received a generous gift of $200,000 from the Watt Foundation that will go toward construction of the building.
The 40 acres sit just adjacent to the newly developed High-Tech Industrial Park that's part of the Wrench Ranch development.
