The Sheridan Area Water Supply Joint Powers Board agreed unanimously Wednesday night to submit a request for a conditional use permit for a new clearwell at the Big Goose Water Treatment Plant. SAWS is currently negotiating the purchase of land where the clearwell would be located, and those negotiations are nearly complete. SAWS Administrator Rod Liesinger says since the process will take about three months, they are just looking to stay ahead of the game.
SAWS must obtain a CUP because the land where the clearwell would be located is zoned agricultural and does not permit the use of a clearwell. The land is just under an acre and is located east of the Big Goose Water Treatment Plant.
