The Sheridan Area Water Supply Joint Powers Board approved a cost sharing agreement with the City of Sheridan at their monthly meeting Wednesday. The agreement is to enter into a contract with States West Water Resources Corporation to work with SAWS and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to secure mitigation conservation easements for the created wetlands at the Twin Lakes Reservoir.

SAWS Administrator Rod Liesinger says that monitoring reports have shown that the wetlands do not meet the standards of the permit.

SAWS will be responsible for $11,850 of the $35,500 contract for services with States West. The Joint Powers Board also authorized an application to the Wyoming Water Development Commission for funding of a Level II, Phase II Supplemental Supply study in cooperation with the City to assess long term water supply.
