The Sheridan Area Water Supply Joint Powers Board voted unanimously to move forward with a grant application through the Wyoming Water Development Commission.
The grant would fund a Level Two Phase Two study that would follow up the recommendations from the recently completed Level Two Phase One Long Term Water Supply Assessment that was done by Dowl HKM.
The assessment concluded that SAWS should pursue purchasing shares from Park Reservoir or other mountain reservoirs and to acquire Sawmill Reservoir for long term water supply.
SAWS Administrator Rod Liesinger explains what this next study would provide.
The application for the funding for the study is a joint venture between the City of Sheridan and the SAWS JPB. The study would be 100% funded by the WWDC.
