The Ucross Foundation Art Gallery will host an artist reception for Sara Mast, in collaboration with Roderic Mast, Eric Mast, Jr., Emily Mast, Morrison Mast, Kassandra Mast and Terrill Mast.
Sharon Dynak, President of the Ucross Foundation, explains why so many artists are featured at the reception.
The multimedia presentation will feature paintings, video, sound, and display.
Dynak said although the family is multi-talented, it is Sara Mast that has been the catalyst for the exhibition.
Dynak tells us more about the artist and her work.
Mast's father is the inspiration for the show. He was a physicist and inventor who met Thomas Edison and worked with Edison's son, according to Dynak, and there has been much research into that aspect of her father's life.
A writer for the Big Sky Journal referred to Mast as an explorer, researcher, astronomer, philosopher and artist, and all dimensions end up in her work, Dynak said.
She said the gallery is pleased to have work on display from someone with Mast's experience.
The reception is scheduled for 3pm to 5pm Saturday, February 23 at the gallery in Ucross. The show “Soundings” will be on display through June 15th.
