The Family Crisis Center in Buffalo, the local extension of the Salvation Army, is looking for volunteers to ring bells and man the kettles for their annual Holiday fundraiser.
Carol Jennings is with the Crisis Center and said the local effort, although not an “official” Salvation Army outpost like in Sheridan, is a local bell-ringing extension that raises money locally to help Johnson County residents. All donations raised in the county stay in the county.
Jennings said there are primarily three stores they use during the holidays, and volunteers work for two-hour shifts at a time. Volunteers can sign up for as little as a one-time two-hour shift or more, all volunteers are welcomed.
Jennings said people are generous everywhere it seems, but especially in Buffalo.
Those who would like to volunteer some time during the holiday season can contact Carol Jennings at the Family Crisis Center at 684-2233.
Bell ringers will be needed on Wednesdays and Saturdays with an occasional Thursday from the day before Thanksgiving until Christmas Eve.
