The Sheridan Salvation Army bell ringers are out in force manning red kettles as usual, and they have a few other events scheduled as Christmas approaches.
Salvation Army Captain David Leonard tells us about Saturday's “Stuff the Bus” event.
Donations will also be accepted in Ranchester at the community center. The event lasts from 11 am to 1 pm tomorrow and gifts will go to area seniors and children in need. For more information contact the Salvation Army.
Volunteers are also needed for a toy distribution event to be held at the Bank of the West on December 20 and 21. Although registration for gift recipients has closed, those wanting to donated can still find an ornament on the angel tree at Wal-Mart to pick out a gift.
Finally, for the traditional Christmas fundraiser at the Salvation Army, they still need volunteers to help staff all red kettle locations. They will try to set up nine around Sheridan: at Warehouse Market, JC Penny, Cost Plus Furniture and Appliance, Wal-Mart, Albertsons, at both of the Holiday stores, and at the Post Office. Bell ringers will be at locations through Christmas Eve, as staffing numbers allow.
Contact the Salvation Army to find out more about donating and the numerous other ways to help out during their busy holiday season. Visit their main office on 150 South Tschirgi Street, or give them a call at 672-2444.
