For the past several years, the staff, students, parents and members of the community have gathered on the playground of Sagebrush Elementary School to have one rip-roaring end-of-school party for a half day.
Thursday, clear blue skies and a cool breeze made for a perfect environment for everyone to enjoy several inflatable apparatus provided by Fun on the Go out of Gillette, as well as other game activity areas spread throughout the playground.
Most popular, however, was the dunk tank, where none other than school principal Mike Wood, donning a bike helmet and constantly wet clothes, perched atop a little bench that would send him into the tub if little hands successfully tossed a ball into the seat lever. The lever and the seat worked very well, and worked often. So who did better, the girls or boys? Wood responds.
One little gal named Audrey, who will be a 2nd Grader in the fall, says that she had a great school year, and enjoyed learning math and participating in gym class. As for the Play Day, she tells us her favorite parts.
Today is the last day of school for Sheridan County School District 2 students.
