The public comment period on the proposed 2012 sage grouse season regulation has been extended to April 24. The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is proposing a sage grouse season between September 15th through the 30th, with a daily limit of two birds and a possession limit of four. The department is also proposing to close
the season in area 4 in northeast Wyoming, which includes Sheridan, Johnson and Campbell counties and the western portions of Crook and Weston counties.

Game and Fish Assistant Chief Game Warden Scott Edberg said that due to the proposed closure in northeast Wyoming, there has been an increased number of public comments, prompting the G&F to extend the public comment period. Written comments must be submitted to the the Wyoming Game and Fish Department, Attn: Sage Grouse Regulations, 3030 Energy Lane, Casper, WY, 82604. Residents can also submit their comments when the Game and Fish Commission addresses the proposals at their meeting April 25 at the Oil and Gas Commission Building in Casper.
