Two shows will open for viewing Monday at the SAGE Exhibit Gallery in downtown Sheridan.

The gallery is next to Sheridan College on Main Street. Both shows are sponsored by Sagebrush Community Art Center and will be open free to the public on weekdays, from 9 until 4. Both will be up through Nov. 29.

Sagebrush President Edre Maier says the Parks and Pathways show is to spotlight the city of Sheridan's Parks and Pathways system. Artists this past summer were invited to tour the pathways and parks and to create works of art based on something they saw during their tour. The art show is juried, and an artist reception and awards ceremony will be at the Main Street gallery from 5:30 until 7 in the evening on Nov. 7.

Altered Artly Furniture is a fundraiser for the community art center. Artists were invited to decorate chairs, and the resulting works will be sold in silent auction.
