The Sheridan Police Department will establish a prescription drug take-back station in the parking lot of Walgreens on Coffeen Avenue today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Evidence technician with the SPD, Steve Johnson, said today is a good day to clean out your medicine cabinet and surrender unneeded prescription drugs for proper disposal. Furthermore, Johnson said participating in the drug take-back program helps avoid theft or abuse. If something comes up and you can't make it, there's an alternative way to get rid of your unwanted prescription medications.
The drug take-back station is primarily interested in collecting outdated or unneeded prescription drugs, especially narcotics. The station is not equipped to take over-the-counter medicine, needles or inhalers.
Again, the take-back station will be in the Walgreens parking lot today from 10 to 2.
