Rocky Mountain Ambulance has filled two of the four positions that it aims to fill in order to prepare its staff for the transition of providing ambulance services in Sheridan. Executive Director and Co-owner of RMA, Rick Ballard, talked about how he gave Sheridan Fire-Rescue first opportunity to the full-time positions.
RMA will fill the final two positions by the September 1 date to staff up to meet the demand of service. The contract with the City officially went into effect Monday, August 1st.
Six Sheridan Fire-Rescue personnel ended up being laid off instead of the eight predicted following the City Council's decision on July 18 because two captains, Chuck Dudrey and Ed Fack, with SFR decided to retire. The lay-offs went into effect this past Monday at 7:30 am.
