Road and Bridge: Trabing Road Project 'Winding Down'

Scott Pehringer, Johnson County Road and Bridge Supervisor, gave an update on the Trabing Road Project to the County Commissioners at their Tuesday meeting, saying it was “winding down.”

Paving and widening of the roadway, straightening some dangerous curves and improvements along a roughly 8-mile stretch of the road have been completed, Pehringer said, but installation of fencing still needs to be done.

Fill dirt, utilities and calcium chloride costs were $163,000 and administration cost roughly $414,000; and preliminary construction costs were $5.7 million for a subtotal of $5.9 million, according to Pehringer and WYDOT Resident Engineer Isaac Finkle.

There are outstanding bills for Centurylink for lowering fiber optic lines on the project and more costs involved with fencing that will bring the total budget for the project to $6.8 million when finished.

The cost of the project was budgeted over two budget years by the county.
