They earned it, these young riders with Ride for Him Ministries. Training with their horses for over two months, the nine horse crazy kids had the privilege of riding in the Sheridan WYO Rodeo Parade on Friday.
Ride for Him, a faith-based, non-profit equine therapy program is directed by Tom and Leslie Stevie. Leslie says the kids learn about trust and confidence while working with horses.
It's not all about riding, these kids work hard learning safety, grooming and organization. Tom says failure can be a great teacher.
Lives are changed through Ride for Him.
The Horse Camp is for ages 10-16. The Stevies also offer riding lessons, trailer loading classes, building confidence classes and also work with problem horses. All lessons are free but class size is limited. There is an application process which can be found at rideforhimministries.com
