A growing number of residents in our local communities have been questioning the validity of their property tax assessments. Sheridan Media's Betsy Love has more
Mike Madden, who is also a Wyoming State Representative for Johnson County, is one of them. A year and a half ago, Madden appealed his assessed value at the county level:

He adds that property tax assessments are a “real complicated process for the average person who does not work with statistics and numbers on a daily basis,” and that this is part of the problem:

Madden says that legislatively “we have some homework to do,”and adds that “we need to figure out a way, as they do in many other states, to make it less cumbersome to seek redress in these kinds of disputes.”
