Wyoming lawmakers began debate on the 2011 Supplemental Budget earlier this week, and Representative Rosie Berger says that for a conservative body, forty amendments to the $215 million Supplemental Budget came before legislators Tuesday. She says that it took 45 minutes just to debate a $20,000 amendment to a state directory.
Despite the time it will take to work through the amendments, however, she said a bill, Senate File 110, was signed Tuesday morning.
Seeing the bill hit the Governor's desk was gratifying, she tells us.
Berger says that the House has been working on another bill, Senate File 144 that has to do with contractor preferences, which has to do with putting Wyoming businesses to work.
Back to the budget amendments, Berger says that it still looks like the Session will end in three weeks, as scheduled.
Representative Berger is the Co-Chair of the Joint Appropriations Committee.
