The Wyoming Department of Transportation is reminding Sheridan residents to read the posted signs in the construction zones on Interstate 90. Public Information Specialist for WYDOT, Ronda Holwell, explains.
Holwell says there have been accidents in those areas as a result of drivers failing to stop or those drivers who stop but fail to look for oncoming traffic and merge responsibly.
Additionally, she says WYDOT has reduced speeds in the area for a reason.
The construction, which entails bridge and guardrail rehabilitation and an overlay project, is expected to span two years. Currently, WYDOT is working on the southbound lanes - that portion should be completed by this August. The northbound lanes will undergo similar rehabilitation next year.
