The Sheridan Memorial Hospital Foundation will be holding its fourth annual breast cancer awareness run, called the Link, this Saturday. It costs $40 to register and the price includes a pink t-shirt and a snack bag.
Executive Director of the foundation, Ada Kirven, gives some background on the event.
Kirven said that last year they saw more than 720 participants in the race with 150 additional volunteers. She explains how the event helps raise awareness of women's health issues in the community.
All the proceeds will go towards the maintenance and upkeep of digital mammography equipment at the hospital, which aids in the detection of breast cancer. Kirven describes what the hospital will be able to do with the funds raised.
Once again, the Link Walk will take place Saturday at the Whitney Commons Area between 10 a.m. and noon.
