Red Grade Road Back To Normal After Wreckage Removed

Towing crews were finally able to remove the wreckage of a truck and camper trailer from Red Grade Road yesterday morning. After four hours of work last week the wreckage had been moved nearly 300 feet uphill to near the point where it went over the edge last month. Red Grade was closed again yesterday morning while the camper and truck were loaded onto wreckers for the removal. Sheridan County Engineer Ken Muller said workers altered part of the road during the extraction.

The pickup and trailer went off the road on July 28th. Buffalo resident Ralph Bell jumped out of the vehicle when he realized he wasn’t going to be able to stop in time for the curve. Bell was not injured in the crash.

The road was reopened to regular traffic around 10:30 yesterday morning.
