The move for the Buffalo/Johnson County Recycling Center has been scheduled for Friday, August 19, according to Recycling Board member Skip Hancock.
The old recycling center on Fetterman Street will shut down and the new recycling center, which is under construction near Ace Hardware on Butte Street, will open the following week, according to Hancock. Recyclable materials will not be able to be processed for a few days during the move from the old building to the new, he said.
Hancock explains further.
The old recycling center is being torn down and moved to its new location to make room for the county's new courtroom facility that will be added to the justice center building that is nearing completion.
Hancock asked citizens to plan ahead and not bring their recyclables to the old site after August 19. Materials will be accepted at the new site beginning Wednesday, August 24.
