Members of Sheridan County Recreation District 1 received a proposal Wednesday from a Sheridan public relations firm interested in helping the district promote plans for a proposed Big Horn
After hearing the proposal from Pascal Public Relations, recreation board members expect to decide whether to hire the company at their meeting on Jan. 8.
Kelly Pascal Gould presented the proposal, which included the scope of work to be done. The company would charge $95 an hour for its services, which was presented as a discount from its typical rate of $125 an hour.
The recreation district board is interested in building a recreation center in Big Horn similar to the one that now serves the Dayton/Ranchester area.
District Chairman Zack Cummins said board members are looking at land acquired earlier this year that is adjacent to the Big Horn School campus as a potential site for the proposed facility. He said the district feels “strongly,” as he put it, that this land would be appropriate for the center.
