Rec District Will Take Seniors To Heart Mtn, Buffalo Bill Museums

The City of Sheridan' Recreation District is hosting a trip for senior citizens to visit Cody on Wednesday and see the new Heart Mountain Museum as well as the Buffalo Bill Museum there.

Both locations hold a lot of historical significance for both Wyoming and the nation as a whole. Heart Mountain was the site of an internment camp for Japanese Americans during World War II. Dale Boedecker explains this old site has a new attraction to help visitors grasp what happened there.

Afterward, participants will be hauled to the Buffalo Bill Museum in Cody. Sheridanites are probably pretty familiar with the man and the myth of Buffalo Bill, but this museum has something for even the most seasoned historian.

Space on the trip is limited, but there are still seats open at the Sheridan Rec District. The fee for the day is $45, which includes the ride and entrance into the museums. Participants will want to bring additional money for lunch. The trip is open to anyone over the age of 55. To sign up, call the Rec District at 674-6421.
