The recreation district board has approved a draft memorandum of understanding with the Sheridan Little League that will allow youth registered with Webb Wright Baseball to participate in the Little League as well.
The district operates the Webb Wright program.
District Director Richard Wright says the agreement will expand opportunities for Webb Wright participants. He talked about what that means after the meeting.
A final version of the memorandum will be presented to the board at a later date. District officials will sign the memorandum at a news conference at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the Recreation District office in Thorne-Rider Park.
In other action, the board approved a request for $2,500 from the American Legion Baseball program. The recreation district has historically contributed that amount annually to help the baseball program purchase equipment. Board members also approved a $300 donation to Sheridan's Project Graduation.
The district director said plans are on for Easter egg hunts at Thorne-Rider Park Saturday morning, with a children's hunt at 10, and a Pooch Hunt for dogs and their owners at 11. Also coming up at the park are the Sheridan City Marble Championships on May 10, starting at 10 o'clock. Wright said this is the third year for the marble event. He said the program is growing, with about a dozen participants the first year, and 20 last year.
