Approximately 20,000 people visited the outdoor pool in Kendrick Park this summer, even though it's due for renovations.
Executive director of the district, Richard Wright, said he wants to be sure the new outdoor pool serves the community in both a competitive and recreational context.
Wright said an 11-person steering committee is advising the district on the future design of Sheridan's new pool.
Wright said the steering committee will probably meet again in a few months.
