Re-roofing of Sheriff's Office Given the Go Ahead by the County

Sheridan County received only one bid for the re-roofing of the Sheridan County Sheriff's Office. The lone bid came from Lowe Roofing out of Gillette in the amount of $109,000, which was approved by the County Commissioners despite it being almost $15,000 higher than the architect's estimate.

Last year, Lowe Roofing was responsible for the re-roofing of the Sheridan County Courthouse addition where they paid $150 for a building permit from the City of Sheridan.

The Sheriff's Office project is a much smaller job, yet the permit from the City is estimated to cost around $3,000. County Commissioner Terry Cram feels that having the two entities charging each other for permit fees doesn't seem to make a lot of sense.

Cram stated that TSP, the architect for the project, intends to contact the City about the cost of the permit.
