The Ranchester Town Council approved the purchase of a new compact loader at their meeting Tuesday night. Councilman Dennis Dunn tabled the matter at their previous meeting, stating that he need to discuss the necessity of the loader with the town foreman before he could make a decision on the purchase.
After the item as removed from the table, there was a brief discussion on whether to purchase a new or used loader. In the end the Council agreed to go with a new Bobcat loader in the amount of $55,000 from C&K Equipment of Sheridan. Ranchester Mayor Cliff Clevenger explains that the approval was contingent on clearing up some warranty issues.
Clevenger said that the loader will come with several attachments, including a snow blower that will allow the town to do a much more thorough job of snow removal during the winter months.
