The Ranchester Town Council has approved their budget for the fiscal year in the amount of $2.7 million. That number includes projects and one-cent optional monies, as the general fund budget that was adopted is $1.2 million. Ranchester Councilwoman Samantha Nixon says that they may have to consider some rate increases in the coming year.
Nixon said that the bids for the Visitor's Center on the east end of Town came in about $100,000 above what the grant will allow for.
The Visitor's Center will be funded through a grant from the Wyoming Business Council. Nixon said that they continue to plan for their Centennial Celebration that will take place in late August, and that anyone interested in volunteering their time is encouraged to attend a planning meeting next Tuesday, July 11th at 5:30 pm at the Ranchester Town Hall.
