Good news for parents: you don't have to cook breakfast Saturday morning! Instead, get dressed, grab your kids, and head to the Junior High Gymnasium for a free breakfast, courtesy of Raising Readers in Wyoming. Executive Director, Jolene Olson, said after participants finish their pancakes, sausage, eggs, juice, and more, there will be activities for young readers and informational resources about the importance of reading for parents.
Olson confirmed she has been lucky enough to book several celebrity storybook characters, who will be available to interact with Sheridan's young readers. In addition, experts in child development will be milling around to provide information and answer parents' questions.
Olson also said donations of gently used children's books will be accepted in exchange for a chance to win a Kindle Fire. The donated books will go to support children's literacy programs on the Crow Reservation.
The Raising Readers in Wyoming Breakfast is from 8 to 11 Saturday morning at the Junior High gymnasium.
