Tomorrow morning at the Sheridan Junior High School cafeteria and gymnasium, the 3rd Annual Raising Readers Bookfest & Feast will take place, and is open to the entire family. Money raised goes to increase program visibility for doctors' office children's books, book plates on the back of the books and book marks indicating that Raising Readers provided the books.
Jolene Olson is director of Sheridan's chapter of Raising Readers, and she describes the “feast” part of the morning.
Andrea Staley is also with the Sheridan organization, and she tells us about the “fest” events.
Cost for the Bookfest & Feast is $5 per family, no matter the size of the family. The event runs from 8 am to 11 am. Olson says the majority of the money raised actually comes from generous sponsorships and the raffle for some amazing prizes, including trips to a Red Lodge ski resort, the Thermopolis Hot Springs, or two tickets from Sheridan to Denver thanks to Great Lakes Airlines.
