The Lake DeSmet Counties Coalition's Marketing Committee has discussed the need for greater public input on the proposed lease of the lake to the Wyoming Game and Fish, and sent their recommendations to the Coalition for their thoughts.
The Lake DeSmet Conservation District has approached the Coalition with an offer to host the public presentation and discussion on the lease and other water-related matters.
Nikki Lohse, with the Conservation District, told the Coalition that the meeting has been tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, June 5 at 7pm at the Buffalo High School Auditorium. Melissa Butcher and PB Communications and Strategic Solutions will be facilitating the meeting.
Lohse also asked for the Coalition to pay for ¼ of the costs involved with putting on and advertising the meeting. She estimated the costs at $4,000 which she hopes to be split between the Coalition, Conservation District, and the Sheridan and Johnson County Commissions.
The LDCC agreed to pay their share of the costs.
