Johnson County's Commissioners held a public hearing Tuesday during their regular meeting to allow comment on the proposed vacation of county-owned property on Airport Road, but no comment was offered.
The vacation is part of an agreement between landowners in the area of the intersection of Airport Road and Watkins Avenue, which allowed for the realignment of the intersection with North Main Street.
The agreement involves the Baldwin Property, Johnson County, and developer Jason Beckner, owner of the Buffalo Ridge development.
The commissioners and Road and Bridge Supervisor Scott Pehringer discussed the vacation further.
The county needed to vacate the property before any other action could happen, so they approved the vacation of property with the stipulation that the county attorney send a copy of the vacation resolution to Beckner and request that he grant the easement to Baldwin within 30 days.
