Ptolemy: Data Centers For Wyoming

Ptolemy: Data Centers For Wyoming

The Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce monthly luncheon featured Ptolemy Data Systems Wednesday and their presentation on how and why start-up tech firms can work in Wyoming.

Jesus Rios, Vice President of Business Development for Ptolemy Data Systems, explains three things they've found Wyoming can offer their data center business venture.

Founded in 2009, Rios says that Ptolemy didn't know these things right off the bat, and they changed their game plan several times to make their data center work.

Ptolemy is working on completing Phase 1 of their data center in north Sheridan -- a 6,000 square foot facility, featuring a 1,000 square foot vault and a remaining 5,000 square feet of support space. Phase 2 plans are for an additional 10,000 square feet.

Ptolemy has 800 customers locally, backing up data for industries such as health care, financial services, government, and public safety. They also serve home users.

Next month's Chamber Luncheon will feature Kassi Catering.
