The Powder River Basin Resource Council has initiated efforts to bring more renewable energy options to Wyoming consumers.
Because of the state's rich fossil-fuel economy, smaller companies that work with solar or wind energy haven't gained strong footing in the equality state. Shannon Anderson, a community organizer with the council, said this diversification of energy resources can be beneficial.
Anderson said the council is still laying the foundation for economic change.
Anderson said the main focus at this point is to recruit small businesses who would provide small-scale installation and implementation of renewable energy to individual consumers.
