Larry Shyatt has been hired to replace Heath Shroyer as the new Univerisity of Wyoming Cowboys Basketball Program.

University of Wyoming athletics officials announced Thursday that Larry Shyatt has agreed to a five-year contract to take over as head coach of the Cowboy Basketball program. He replaces Heath Schroyer, who was fired in February.

This won't be Shyatt's first time with the Cowboys. During the 1997 -1998 season he also served as head coach, leading the team to a 1909 record. From Wyoming, he went on to Clemson, and has been with the Florida Gators' program for several years as their associate head coach. I

n fact, Shyatt helped the Gators win the 2006 and 2007 NCAA Championships, as well as three Southeastern Conference tournament championships.

We'd like to know your thoughts on the hiring. This week's Bank of Sheridan / sheridanmedia.com poll question is: Was it a wise decision for the University of Wyoming to hire Larry Shyatt as the new Cowboys Head Coach?
