Poll Question: Troop Withdrawal from Afghanistan

President Obama pledged last week to begin the American troop withdrawal process out of Afghanistan by the end of this 2011.

Last week, President Obama addressed the nation to announce his plan for withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan.

He referenced his campaign promise that he would have troops out of that country by July 2012, and as he nears the year-away mark from that deadline, he announced that the withdrawal process will begin by this year's end.

His plan is to pull initially 10,000 troops out. On the one hand, military officials think that number is too high and that timeline is too fast. On the other hand, voters who have wanted an end to this war feel that number is too low and that the withdrawal should have happened a long time ago.

The issue prompted this week's Bank of Sheridan / sheridanmedia.com poll question: “Do you agree with President Obama's plan to withdraw troops from Afghanistan?” The response choices this week are: Yes, that's the right call; No, that's too many, too soon; or No, that's not enough.
