Tea Party Candidate Christine O'Donnell in a Primary Election upset in Delaware earlier this month.

Last Tuesday in what many consider to be surprise upsets, several Tea Party candidates won primary elections in bids that were initially considered “shoe-ins” for the incumbents and / or challengers. In Delaware, Cynthia O'Donnell beat out incumbent Michael N. Castle; in Alaska, Joe Miller won against incumbent Lisa Murkowski.

Whether or not these Tea Party winners will garner major support from either major party or Independents remains to be seen, and the issue prompted this week's Bank of Sheridan / sheridanmedia.com poll question: “Is the Tea Party having a positive influence in this year's election?”
