The latest City of Sheridan budget work session consisted of an overview of the Police Department and Sheridan Fire-Rescue. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter was there and has the story.
Sheridan Police Chief Richard Adriaens informed the council that their proposed budget for the upcoming fiscal year is slightly higher than last years due to wages and benefits, computer hardware upgrades and special events enforcement. He also informed the council that alcohol and substance abuse continue to be a big part of crime in Sheridan.
Fire Chief Terry Lenhart described Sheridan Fire-Rescue as much more than just a fire department.
Chief Lenhart said that their budget is almost $100,000 less than the previous year because of the decision not to fill the Fire Marshal position after Brian Songer resigned.
