Police Department Collects Twenty-Three Pounds of Prescription Medications

The Sheridan Police Department once again took part in the National Drug Take Back Day over the weekend, as officers were on hand in the Walgreens parking lot to collect any unused or expired prescription medications. Sheridan Police Sgt. Travis Koltiska said that they collected 23 pounds of precipitation medications Saturday. He added that the drug take back initiative is a safe, environmental friendly way of disposing of medications.

Koltiska said that if you didn't have a chance to make it to the collection site at Walgreens, there is a drop box at the Police Department that can be used throughout the week.

Koltiska stated that over the past six months, the take back box at the Police Department has collected 70 pounds of prescription medications.
